What is the best mop for dog hair?

Today, I’ll be reviewing the best products to use. But first, can I be totally honest with you? Pet hair sucks!

My dog leaves hair everywhere and is very frustrating. As a pet owner, imagine what it’d be like spending much time and putting efforts on getting rid of your dog hair or fur, and it seems you can’t just get them all.

I’ve tried some ways to get rid of those hair – vacuum, dusting, and cleaning the house, name it, only to find new strands of hair on the floor or firmly stuck to my furniture or carpet.

In an attempt to find effective ways to deal with my dog hair by checking several resources, I found that microfiber mops are more suitable either for hardwood floors or most flat floors.

Why do I say this?

Well, firstly, some other tools claim to get the job done flawlessly, but this is not so. Plus, I’ve used one of the mops I’ll recommend, and does a great job cleaning dog hair with ease.

So, let’s get down to business.

#1. TURBO MICROFIBER Mop Floor Cleaning System

This is the first product I’d be recommending to anyone any day. The TURBO MICROFIBER mop performs excellently for picking up dog hair. I’ve been using it for a while now, and it’s my favorite. It comes with a massive 17 inches mop head that can rotate 360 to make the cleaning job easier.

I like how the mop head is situated really low, making it even easier to pick dog hair from tight places. This product comes with two washable microfiber pads, which are thick and heavy-duty and can be reused over several times.

The mop pads are made with Microfiber Gripping Technology, which further helps pick up dog hair and tiny dust particles. The pads can be attached to the fixed Velcro on the mop head and easily peeled off when it’s due for washing. And it’s machine-washable as well.

The other mop pad is great for wet cleaning and scrubbing purposes. Both pads can be used on any surface, including hardwood floors, granite, tiles, etc., and will leave no scratches.

Also worth mentioning is that the mop telescoping handle is adjustable within 35-60 inches long so people of different height can use it. It’s made of aluminum alloy to make it lightweight and less tiring but still sturdy.

#2.Temples Pride Professional Microfiber Mop

This all-in-one dry and wet floor cleaning kit is an excellent mop that gets the job done of getting rid of dog hair with ease. With three microfiber pads (2 wet mopping and one dry dusting pads) made for different mopping purposes, it’s not just a dog hair-removal tool.

One of the things I like most about this dog hair mop is the ease of using it and makes cleaning even faster made possible by its 18 inches base.  And coupled with the fact that it can be easily maneuvered, this will help you reach tight spaces and corners to pick up dog hair or just clean.

The superfine pad of the three detachable and washable microfiber pads does great for dry jobs and picks up dog hair like magnets by electrostatic and can be used for dust mopping. The other two heavy-duty pads are used for general wet cleaning purposes. Both wet and dry pads are easy to wash, and doesn’t shrink –

also worth mentioning is the adjustable telescopic handle from 29-62 inches that makes it comfortable for people of different height. So, you can extend to your comfortable height without having to bend while doing the cleaning.

I could really go on and on about this mop product.

#3. BOOMJOY Microfiber Flat Mop with Bucket

The BOOMJOY Microfiber mop is another great choice for dog hair. I really like its build and quality.

Another cool thing about this pick is its hands-free feature. So if you do not like dipping your hands in cleaning solutions or wastewater, this is a choice for you.

This mop system comes with a bucket with 2 slots; one for cleaning and the other for drying the mop. The spring back head slots in easily into both sides to make cleaning and drying easy.

This product comes with two very thick microfiber pads that are durable and reusable. The high density does a fantastic job of picking up hair easily rather than moving it around.

The mop head is about 13 inches wide and can rotate 360 to make maneuverability even easier. Its handle is 50 inches long and made of stainless steel.

The bucket has a drain hole to release the wastewater in case you’re wondering how, and also has a buckle design to prevent water from pouring when in use or carried.

#4. TETHYS Floor Mop (for Dog Hair on Hard Floors)

The TETHYS Floor Mop and Bucket Set is a product specifically designed for use on hard flat surfaces. It does a really great job of picking dog hair on hardwood floors and other hard floors like Tiles, Laminate, Vinyl, Cement, Baseboards, etc.

It comes with a twelve-inch head that can be rotated up to 280 for your advantage when trying to clean every spot. Its two microfiber pads are made for use on flat hard floors and pick up hair really well. The pads can be reused often times by washing in a machine or manually as you may like.

The bucket system has two sides for washing and drying the pads. Prongs are available on the wash side to remove dirt and hair in case they get excessive and disrupt cleaning.

The bucket has two drain holes near the bottom to make draining waste water faster. Also worth mentioning is the lightweight aluminum handle that you can adjust to suit your height

#5. O-Cedar ProMist MAX Microfiber Spray Mop

O-CEDAR’s microfiber spray mop is another recommendation that picks up dog hair efficiently on all floors, including hardwood floors.

Apart from getting the job of picking up dog hair easily, I really like its build. It’s a quality microfiber mop, and one of the options pet owners usually go for. Another standout is how the microfiber pads are designed, which is different from most mops in the market. The structure design helps it absorb the tiniest hair and dust particles.

The large mop head helps you clean faster by covering more spaces. It’s also dual-sided, which means you can use both sides of the mop for cleaning by simple flipping of the mop head.

The pads are structured to make it suitable for both dry and wet jobs without having to switch pads. The pads are reusable to save you money and are washable using a machine.

It comes with a bottle attached towards the bottom of the handle to add your favorite solution. So you don’t have to wet the floor first before cleaning.  The spray control is situated below the comfort grip handle.

#6. CXhome Hardwood Floor Microfiber Mop

The CXhome Hardwood Floor Microfiber Mop is another product that does well with dog hair removal on all floors. The main feature for me as regards this mop is the thinness of its mop head. This makes it really easier to reach very tight corners and hard-to-reach places.

The mop head is massive at 25 inches, and you can rotate it 360 to help make the job easier. It comes with two soft reusable microfiber pads (seems like the norm) that are washable and easy to remove. The pads come with a multi-function scrapper to improve dog hair removal and tiny dust.

The stainless steel handle is sturdy and reaches about 47 inches. One issue is that it is not adjustable like others previously mentioned. The grip handle helps provide much comfort even when used for extended periods. This mop also comes with a bottle for mixing for favorite cleaning solutions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does dog hair stick to microfiber?

Yes! Microfiber fabric picks up dog hair easily than any other option available. Pet hair clings to most microfiber weaves. While using microfiber to remove dog hair seems the perfect option, you should know best not to use microsuede fabrics as they pick up dog hair the least among other microfibers.

How do you get dog hair out of microfiber cloth?

There are several methods for this. You can do this by using a dampened cloth to brush off hair from the microfiber piece. Water clogs the holes in microfiber fabric, making it less absorbent. You can also use a rubber short-bristled brush. This will help to clump the strands together and easy to remove.

Microfiber can’t take off all the hair because my dog sheds excessively.

If your dog sheds excessivelyusing a microfiber mop may not get the job done at once, as the maps would have got totally clogged. So if you’re left with little bits of hair after mopping, a quick wipe with an upholstery would get the job done. Please note that a vacuum cleaner will fail at picking up all dog hair; it’s only suitable when the job is almost done.
